After you have filled your basics, Algebra and Geometry, if your child likes math (don’t laugh, mine loved it!) encourage them to take as much as they want, it is always useful.
The Life of Fred...
I hear much more often that parents struggle with getting their child thru even the most basic of math. There is an excellent new program out that teaches math from a real life perspective called the “Life of Fred” (this isn’t a joke, really!) and kids absolutely LOVE it. Check it out at StanleySchmidt.com or see a pdf sample here.
This type of math curriculum emphasizes our philosophy that if kids can see a reason for what they are learning, it suddenly makes sense, and learning comes easily.
Business Math and Accounting
There are many business math and accounting courses out there for the homeschooler,
and we are still looking for our favorite. Sign up for free updates and we’ll let
you know what we find! :-
Excel Computer Course
Learning Excel should be required coursework, for it’s one of the most useful programs a business person can learn. All computer programs are constantly changing, but once the basics of any computer program is learned, it can be applied to newer ones almost every time. Alpha Omega has a good mini course that teaches Excel for just $10.
